All DC powered Danfoss compressors used in mobile refrigeration require an electronic control box (AKA "module") to operate. Older compressors (BD 2.0, 2.5, 3.0) utilized a remote-mount module that connected to the compressor with a 4-pin plug, and these were voltage specific; either 12v or 24v. NOTE: These four-pin controllers are now obsolete and there is no substitute available from Coastal Climate Control. Current compressors (BD 35 and BD 50) have a module that is mounted on the compressor itself, and is connected to the compressor by a 3-pin plug concealed beneath the module. The 3-pin controllers are dual voltage (can be powered by either 12v or 24v), and are available in Standard, and AC/DC input versions.
